Rally Cars

Historic Rally car preparation

FIA or MSA specification car builds can be quoted for by our expert team. Recently our own FIA historic specification MK2 Ford Escort RS1800 was piloted by Welsh Rally Legend to 1st in Class on the 2014 Cambrian Rally, using our own in house built BDG engine.

GroupB Motorsport can convert an existing club specification Car into a period rally car, or build a car from a fresh shell. With Group A cars becoming popular in European historic’s championships we have extensive knowledge of both Subaru and Ford Group A rally cars with members of our staff having built and competed in these cars during their homologation years.

GroupB Rally Cars

As our company name suggests we have experience of GroupB rally cars, having restored the MRTE GroupB Mazda RX7 driven by Ingvar Carlsson to 3rd place on the WRC Acropolis Rally. Subsequently we have built an Evolution version of the same car which we compete with on national rallies and demonstration events. We also have experience of Manta and Ascona 400’s and Ford RS200 rally cars.

Modern Rally Cars

We build and maintain club and international specification rally cars for a variety of clients and can quote for on event support, test support and car builds or maintenance. Look out for our own team of Steve Hopewell competing in the GroupB Motorsport BDX B11 class Escort and Jade Paveley in the Class B13 Subaru Impreza.

Race Cars

If it is a Track day or full GT specification race car, we have the knowledge to help. Our own race and rally driver Jade Paveley has competed as a Works driver for Mazda UK in 24 hour and sprint races. We have maintained and repaired Lotus, Mazda, Ford, Subaru and Ginetta Race cars to name but a few. We can prepare race cars for Brit Car, GT, and multiple one make race series.

Many of our customers bring Track Day cars to us for Mapping, chassis and engine upgrades and have no interest in racing in championships, but enjoy open track days at local circuits, if you are interested in joining the growing number of Track day drivers we are happy to give advice, so why not drop by for a chat over a Coffee.
